BLENDED LEARNING
In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, we have developed a ‘Single Seamless Curriculum’. This means that, during periods of lockdown or self-isolation, students are able to access their lessons remotely from home.
OUR SINGLE SEAMLESS CURRICULUM: EXPECTATIONS FOR ONLINE LEARNING
- Students will follow their usual timetable
- Online lessons will start at the same time as they do in school.
- Students will be expected to log into Satchel One and their Hwb accounts each morning.
- Students will have 3 ‘lessons’ per day plus Active Tutorial work.
- All work will be set on Satchel One, supported by other platforms such as Google Classroom, Teams and Mathswatch.
- Students are expected to complete the work set in the time that the lesson would have taken place.
- Teachers will be online to support learning and can be contacted by students via Hwb or Satchel One.
- We will support with attendance to online lessons, as we would when students are in school.

OUR APPROACH
When students are working at home, teachers will use a variety of tools to deliver lessons. Research suggests that learning is most effective when teachers use a range of approaches to support blended learning. Examples of approaches include pre-recorded teacher demonstrations, sharing of resources and reading material, narrated PowerPoints, quizzes and ‘live’ video/audio conferencing. Teachers use their expertise to determine the best approaches for each lesson and each class.
