Information

Additional Learning Needs-old

Elfed High School is a nurturing and supportive environment where providing an inclusive education for all is key. We use our knowledge of each student, along with a range of data, to support children with differing levels of ALN and at all ability levels as they progress through the school.

We ensure that students are given appropriate support to learn in class and facilitate Access Arrangements in line with national guidance/criteria for formal examinations and assessments. We complete all ALN testing in school with the support of our ALN teacher who is registered with The British Dyslexia Association.

Elfed High School is home to Hafan, Flintshire’s social and emotional resource for students with ALN. The County allocates places to this resource via a Moderation process. The pupils follow a full and varied curriculum and learn in both small group and mainstream classes. The Additional Learning Needs Policy is available by request to the Headteacher’s PA.
